They say you can never really get away with cheating. But when success eludes honest, hardworking, charismatic Zachery Cranston he decides to put that maxim to the test.

But to lie on the scale Zachery has in mind will require a very particular sort of skill, the kind of lying that even an expert can’t detect. To implement his plan he needs a team. An alcoholic accountant, a crooked auditor, a financially hard-up lawyer and an infatuated secretary make the perfect accomplices. Success follows beyond Zachery’s wildest dreams. His clients are thrilled by his phony investment returns and fame and wealth are soon his to enjoy. But eventually suspicions begin to grow that Zachery’s results may be just a little too good. With not only his fortune and his liberty on the line but also his life, he scrambles to cover his tracks.
